The School of Community Government is delivering a six-day Plan, Build and Maintain course in Yellowknife and Inuvik, NT, January 10-15, 2018. Inuvik region students can participate via the Video Conference training room located in the Inuvik regional office. The course will focus on “effective” infrastructure management. Three main strategies are identified for achieving this goal: Increase community capacity in capital planning and implementation, Increase community capacity in asset management and Increase community access to Project management expertise.

The topics covered in this course include:

  • Principles of Asset Management
  • Capital Asset inventory and accounting
  • Capital Planning Fundamentals
  • Financial planning and Capital reporting
  • Purpose of Project Management
  • Principles of tendering, requesting proposals, and awarding contracts
  • Maintaining Records
