The 2012 Conference and AGM, exploring the theme "Growing Stronger through Collaboration and Exchange", took place October 23-25 in Yellowknife. Many local government administrators from across the NWT attended as they took in learning and networking opportunities. See below for presentations.

And a special congratulations to John McKee, CAO in Fort Liard, who received the honour of a lifetime membership with LGANT for his life-long dedication to the local government sector.
John held several senior positions with the Department of Municipal and Community Affairs before becoming CAO in Fort Liard, a position he has held since 1994. John has also served on the LGANT Board of Directors including three terms as President. Grant Hood, the current LGANT President, presented John with a plaque and acknowledged him for his passion and support for excellence and professionalism as well as his commitment to capacity building at the local government level. The Honourable Robert C. McLeod, Minister for MACA, also awarded John with a plaque of honour for his achievement in the municipal sector of the NWT.
