The Town of Inuvik has a permanent full-time position available for a Municipal Enforcement Peace Officer. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Protective Services. The Municipal Enforcement Peace Officer, through observation and the receipt of complaints, shall be responsible for enforcing all town bylaws, relevant territorial statutes, as well as, observe traffic, conduct traffic stops, issue warnings, town violation tags, or territorial tickets as appropriate. This position requires the candidate to be experienced in domestic animal control. The successful candidate must be able to work a 37.5 hour/week including days, nights, on call shifts and weekends.

Qualified applicants must possess a two year Law Enforcement Diploma or a minimum of two years municipal law enforcement experience. A valid unrestricted Driver's License, Standard First Aid and CPR Certificates are required. Preference may be given to persons certified in the use of RADAR and LIDAR, Self-defense (PPCT)/ OC training, previous traffic enforcement experience, firearms license, a certificate in EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Course) and experience in prosecuting municipal and territorial matters in court. Short listed applicants will be required to submit a Driver's Abstract and will be subject to a RCMP Issued Enhanced Reliability Clearance.

The Town of Inuvik is a growing, dynamic community that serves as the hub of the Beaufort Delta Region. We are offering a starting rate of $34.52 per hour (approx. $67,314 per annum) with an additional Northern Allowance of $7.14 per hour (approx. $13,924 per annum).
